Sahadi's: An American Institution

October 05, 2017

On this month's bonus episode, we get the chance to talk to Christine Sahadi Whelan, managing director of the iconic New York store, Sahadi's. Opened over a hundred years ago in Manhattan's Little Syria, Sahadi's has been a fixture in providing quality Middle Eastern and Mediterranean foods to New York ever since. We chatted with Christine about the history and future of Sahadi's, how the store has changed from its origins in Manhattan, and what may be down the road for the business (hint, hint: it might be restaurant!). We also spoke about Sahadi's recent award from the James Beard Foundation- honored as an "American Classic" through the store's commitment to quality food that reflects the character of its community. Don't miss the chance to hear all about this icon of New York's food scene!
